Student Ministries
Welcome to L.O.V.E. ministries! Thanks for checking us out and we hope you find something you can connect to! Our youth group is made up of at least 10 different middle schools and high schools in the Midwest City area. I am sure there is at least one person who attends your school and that means you automatically have a friend!! You may be wondering what L.O.V.E. stands for so I will answer that question.
L- Laughter is a high priority in our group. We love to have fun, be silly and do goofy things. We enjoy our times of fellowship like Girls and Guys Night out, Academy Awards Party, Super Bowl party, murder mystery nights or just playing a game of Quelf (a group favorite!). We feel it is through these fun activities we can grow closer with one another, invite new friends and create new memories with new and old buddies!
O- Only One God, laughter may be a high priority but worshiping our God is the top!! We believe connecting to our Creator is a very important aspect of our faith and our youth group! Each week the youth have a worship service with music, videos, journaling, meditation, prayer stations, and so much more! We attend Sunday morning service and we all sit together in the front row! It is through these times of worship with one another we learn about new perspectives of faith, daily living the word and how we can develop a closer walk with God.
V- Variety is dear to our hearts because without variety in all forms how boring would things be! We believe there must be a variety of people with a variety of gifts within our youth group. We need youth who can sing, plan, draw, cook, write, speak, and much more to make L.O.V.E. ministries happen. Scripture tells us we are all parts of the body but the body is not complete without each part! So without YOU, we are not whole! Variety in what we do is a great thing too! We like to try new things, go new places, and meet new people. Our thriller trips in the summer provide lots of opportunities for trying new things. We have visited a Buddhist temple, cemeteries, and worshiped in the yards of our church members.
E- Evangelism is seen through our mission work throughout the year. Each summer the junior high and senior high youth take a mission trip. These trips have been to the OK United Methodist Boys Ranch, Cookson Hills, Youth Force OKC, ReCreations in North Carolina, and San Marcos Work Camp in San Marcos, TX. Some youth have participated in church wide missions going to Petoreal, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Throughout the year we also try to incorporate missions into our activities at least once a month! Some of those missions have been painting at Mary Lee Clark Indian Missionary church, served at City Rescue Mission, Skyline Ministries, Exodus House, Mid-Del Group Homes, and Angel Tree ministries.
I hope you can see this youth group is alive and strong! We look forward to you joining us for worship, home meetings or maybe the Super Bowl party!
If you have any odd jobs that you would like to hire one (or more) of the youth to do, please open this link, print the form, fill it out and return it to David. The youth are trying to raise money on their own for camps, etc.
