NOAH (Not Old At Heart)

A LITTLE HISTORY

Everyone knows the story of NOAH in the bible, but here is a little history about the Wickline NOAH story.  NOAH (Not Old at Heart) is beginning its 21st year at Wickline.  The group has met the first Tuesday of each month at noon for a luncheon and a program, and has taken several trips together.  The group is open to all Wickline seniors and friends from other churches, and acquaintances.  The fellowship, love, caring and genuine concern for each member is a special blessing to all.

This group has had several successful fund-raisers and has continuously been self sufficient without funding from the church.  Monies raised by the NOAH members has also helped support many of the church projects.   Some of the church projects have included helping purchase a church van; bought five benches which are placed throughout the church; made contributions to purchase new carpeting for the church; made contributions to the Rotation Sunday School; the Youth Program; contributions to schools who have provided programs for the group; purchased the TV and VCR for the Fellowship Hall; the lights in the narthex were bought and the installation costs were paid with monies raised from the sale of “Scrubbies” which were crocheted by some of the ladies; and many other projects at the church.

NOAH members have loved and cared for each other during illnesses, deaths, moves, and clean up after storms.  Wickline members and the NOAH group seem to always “be there” when helping hands are needed.   Members of NOAH have been asked, “What do you do?”  As you can see NOAH isn’t just of group of seniors who meet, eat, and travel together.

NOAH would like to invite all seniors who would like to join this group and enjoy the fellowship, good food, travel, and entertainment to contact one of the NOAH members for more information, and a special invitation to come visit with us and join our group.
